Here I am
Hold Me
Far from an obtuse figure
Weak, feeble, but full of grace and compassion
I hold the key, within
Heavy and full of lifelessness
Moving slowly, about to crush you
Far from Man's control
Desires
...And fantasies

Random inspirations. Caused by people, objects, events in my life, or insane thoughts.
The stars seem to entail
Themes of everlasting desire
I hold my hand up high as if I can grasp its power
Twilight fills the night within my soul
Moving slowly
Gray clouds before the radiant star-lit sky
Holding the moon in a flawless pose
Screaming for compassion
I fall to my knees
Clasping within my hands
A message

Together we lay
Drinks in hand
I think of something
But it’s not the same
You don’t exist
But when I think
That’s all I need to feel you
One more for the road
I lay to rest
My body’s shutting down
You’re beside me
That’s all I’ll ever need

Nothing can ever describe him
Walking alone and crippled, nobody will remember, this man
But he did meet someone, one fine day
Arriving in his presence, I say
“The flowers are taller than usual”
His one eye glistened, resembling a fool
With an amazing shine of tears which drool
“You speak like a pessimist, nothing more…”
“…and I will see to it that you grow, young one.”
After words like that, you would think the conversation is done
With a change in tone, you could see his words
Moving like overweight birds
“You should enjoy candle light dinner, with a loved one perhaps…”
“…but you seem to prefer solitude.”
I could feel my bones grind and hollow
And fill with truth and remorse
I cringe and the man smiles from ear to ear
“…Or maybe you don’t belong here, or anywhere.”
He turned and slowly walked away
Stopping halfway, struggling to turn and stare
Silence
I raise my hand to speak but he cripples me with fear
I have nothing, only tears, only hope

Words form within my head
Each one becoming clearer as I align lies to them
Maybe if I use them, I will be something
With each day becoming closer to my last breath
I hope that each lie creates a memory
And that I become that memory
This is my letter to a disordered society
From the guest that never leaves after the party
I hope that each refined lie I leave to you
Will create something from nothing
Which is something… a lot better than nothing
- Daniel Ferro, 2008
There is nothing better than me
Perhaps until you grow old
But I will always be your special friend
I’m there in the day
I’m there in the night
Even after you leave
I’m always there until you return
I’m worn and torn
But always brand new in your heart
As you age, day by day, year by year
I slowly vanish
Sometimes literally, sometimes from your mind
Even though, somehow, I can always be found once more
And no matter what happens
I will always be your special friend
- Daniel Ferro, 2008
The man rocks back and fourth
Upon no chair, fetal position and heavy breathing
Cigarettes don’t exist
No one is around
The man looks at pictures of the ones he loves
And that they will never return
Forever bound to memories and their sensations
- Daniel Ferro, 2008
I look into your eyes
And it reminds me of the time
When we were one
If we were one
Inside this heart of mine
I look into your eyes
And I bleed this love of mine
When we were one
And we were one
Inside this heart of mine
And the ship begins to sail
And the wind takes you away
Doves will fly and angels cry
I have no alibi
And the ship begins to sail
And the wind takes you away
Lips will join and flowers bloom
6 feet inside this tomb

More and more, the rain will come
Pouring down from my only cloud
The water runs down my face
Through my hair and off my frown
The taste is too mush to bare
Too much to comprehend
I’m on my knees inside this storm
My fists are bleeding from the palm
I can’t find my way from here
I can’t find my heart again
- Daniel Ferro, 2008
Nothing explains my happiness, nothing
You can give me the earth, moon, and sun
And forever no replacement, in all seriousness
For her diamond coated eyes
The smile that glows like the moon and lightens my soul
The feelings she gives me, brighter and warmer than the sun
The personality of a real dream goddess
The smell of warm honey and beautiful spring flowers
But I’m not the fool to sit around
No, but I’m silent in that aw you feel
An aw that can be broken from a pinch
That in no way, can wake me from this endless dream
A dream I longed for under my eternity
I say, nothing explains, not even I
As a man of few words, I can only express
Nothing explains my happiness, nothing

A chilling breeze upon my shoulders
Death will take me home
Death follows, don’t ever stare into the night
And share all inner fears
Most will fall
And will make it further
The dark as a savior
Bringing long awaited, endless dreams
Darkness, the final embrace
One true love

Within this winter night
My breath, a mist with every huff
My eyes, stinging
I wait, listening for every tick from my watch
Another meaningless night
My love, cold
Compassion, a desire never to be acknowledged
Cursed within a December night
This arctic tomb…
I once laid my turquoise lips in vain
My nose, fingers and toes become numb
Slowly, frost within my blood
Creeping through my veins, then, within my heart
My love, frozen
- Daniel Ferro, 2008
Every drag makes a circle
I write infinite wisdom
White can seem orange
With all the right words
The phone will ring and I taste ash
Like I taste you
Listening to your voice
My heart beats faster and faster
As lungs contract
Your wisdom is orange
And all my desire will drift and dissipate
Into nothing
- Daniel Ferro, 2008
You see the flame arise
As my blue eyes begin to die
To watch you walk away
Cry and scream, return
With one hand out, I pull
Grasping emptiness
Death becomes my one true love
Embrace the cold within
And to feel this pain within my veins
Reminds me, I’m alive
So dark, so cold, so alone
My body becomes white
Your breath is warm
It’s all I feel
It keeps my soul attached
Your voice will echo through my head
I embrace your inner light
Each breath I take expires too fast
But it’s enough to pass the time
